.... Well moving on.

To me, story is enough of an incentive to finish a game. The greens are just a little extra sugar on an already sugary cake.

If anything, I think PvE completion should allow you to unlock more weapons for pvp.

Other than the cookie cutter skins you get now for PvP weapons.

If they gave you 1.5k and 15k armor for completion there would be a ton of look alikes running around.

endgame? Wellllllll they let you play the whole dang thing over again in hard mode! And if you are in the group that doesnt think that is much of a reward then you have joined a very large group indeed.
At least they gave it a bit of thought for factions and nightfall, factions gave you the end game green (suucky as it is), and nightfall gave you access to razah and DoA (yeah not much better I admit)....prophecies only gave you more quests to complete and then nothing more....ok you killed all the titans here's lots more xp (which by now you probably really dont need, but hey we didnt have a clue what else to give out back then).
Very disappointing.

IMO PvE end-game rewards are fine. I really felt like I had accomplised something when I got my first green. Also, If your 15K armor was free then what would people save up for? You have your Green end-game weapon, some of the best armor in the game, what now? I worked hard to get the cash for my Primeval armor and I know it aint anywhere as good as a set of Obsidian but I a happy with it. anyway, what PvP rewards are you talking about? The chest in HoH? How often do you think an average player opens that chest? Talking about the shiny emote? Think of that emote as the 15K armor, you have to work for it. the game is fine as it is, people are just too scared of a little hard work, your just god damn lazy!

Personally, I really don't care much about the end-game rewards, because the process of getting there is where the fun is.

GW is not your typical RPG game, therefore the end-game rewards are also not typical.

While the completion of the story line could be viewed as the end of the game it is far from that given that many quests and dungeons can be skipped along the way and some are only available after you complete the story.

Most games add a reward at the end that allows or encourages you to play the game again. In that sense the reward for completeing GW, provided you saved your money, is the high end armors you can purchase.

As to the OP wish for free armor you can get a max set of armor for free from collectors in prophicies and in factions. Collector armor should be added to Nightfall though it is very cheap to aquire max armor anyway.

In my honest oppinion the end-game reward in GW is the fact that once the last storyline mission/quest/dungeon is completed I have the freedom to take my char anywhere and do anything I want. I no longer have to worry about failling, since ive already completed the game. To beat a mission now, say on hard mode for a title, is just a matter of pride rather than necesaty.

When the story is done, then the real fun begins.

End game reward for PvE: Experience of Content
What more could you ask for in a PvE aspect then getting to see the sights and getting to digest the story. Honestly if you enjoyed the game that is your reward at the end of it.
Honestly if you ask that question what does PvP reward end game?
